My roommates and I practically live in an igloo during the winter season. As young adults, turning on the central heater in our apartment isn’t ideal when you’re on a budget, and although we can easily split the cost, it’s just not worth spending that extra penny. I’d rather spend that money on something important, like a feast from In-n-Out. So we suffer and shiver all day and night trying to warm ourselves up by layering on clothes and blankets. We’re popsicle, and if you want to guess what flavor we are it would be blueberry.
I applaud those who live in freezing temperatures because the thought of me in those types of areas terrifies me. I live in Southern California for a reason and that’s because of the sun. I love being on the beach, hiking, or doing any type of outdoor activity. Therefore, I’m one of those people who get cold fairly easily and I actually think 70 degrees is eve n pushing it. So I decided to invest in a small space heater just for myself. Best decision I’ve ever made – besides buying a Double Double for lunch!
I’ve recently brought home the NewAir AH-400 Space Heater. I was told that it’s portable, energy efficient, and heats up quickly. When someone tells me that a product heats up quickly I usually compare it to my hair straightener because that thing heats up literally in 10 seconds. It didn’t fail that test. I also got our electricity bill and there wasn’t’ much of a difference in cost. I also LOVE the fact that’s it’s easily portable. However, my roommates really don’t like it when I leave the couch to hibernate in my room because they freeze within two minutes.
Our apartment is really small and even smaller with furniture, so the compact design is very helpful in terms of saving space. I can line the heater next to the wall or put in the corner for storage. It’s also easy to control the thermostat so I can set it to the perfect temperature. I can definitely say that this space heater gets the job done because I’m hardly ever turning into a blueberry popsicle anymore.
